Melvin Lofton


Coach Melvin Lofton started his wrestling career at the age of 10 in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he eventually became a High School State Champion, 3x State Placer, Oklahoma All State Team Member as well as High School All-American. Following his high school career Coach Lofton attended the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship where eventually in his Junior season he would earn the 141lb starting spot. Before suffering a season ending knee injury, Coach Lofton won tournaments such as the Oklahoma Open, N.Y. Brockport Open amongst a few others and was ranked as high as 10th Nationally in the Division 1 wrestling rankings!

Coach Lofton started coaching in 2004 at Norman High School where he helped coach multiple state placers and a high school state champion within his first 3yrs as a coach. In 2008, Coach Lofton moved to Dallas, Tx to further pursue his coaching career. In 2010, coach became the head coach for the well known Dallas Dynamite Wrestling Club. During his tenure at Dynamite, Coach Lofton has produced countless youth and high school state and national champions, state and national placers, and has also been involved with numerous kids going on to college to further pursue their wrestling dreams and goals!
